WHY HAVE A CISM TEAM?

CISM teams have become one of the most effective ways that any organization can care for people after a critical incident. This is especially important when the workplace is highly unique such as air traffic control.  It is important to remember that CISM for the air traffic controller is a peer-to-peer program.  Members of the team are controllers just like you.  And as a result, we can understand more completely what you have experienced better than someone that is not from our profession.  CISM teams also provide an outlet for those involved in a critical incident to process the event in a safe, supportive and confidential environment.   Any critical incident has the potential to knock people off of their normal routine.  Our goal is to get you feeling better again and back to work and your normal routine.  We are here when you need us.
